ZERO BOYS 'Hollywood' 10" available for Pre-Order, Out 02/26/2021

BandcampCover.jpg

Zero Boys 'Hollywood' for the first time ever on vinyl, originally self released in 2014 on a small run of CD's. Limited to 300 10"s on orange vinyl with black splatter and black dust sleeves. Beautiful reworked full color art / layout by Zach Hobbs and in depth story about Terry Hollywood on the insert written by Eric Weddle. These will not be repressed so don't hit the snooze.

Hollywood is an album Terry wrote for himself over the years between 1987 into the mid-1990s. Terry is responsible for most of the Zero Boys’ Livin’ in the 80s EP (1980) and clearly highlights his juvenile and goofy humor. Terry was out of the band by 1985, but his energy loomed, making it known that access to his ideas was impossible to reach. The band reformed in 1999 for Y2K and that was the last time Terry played with the Zero Boys. Drummer Mark Cutsinger and singer Paul Mahern learned Terry’s Hollywood riffs to honor how Terry did it: rock and roll all the time.

R. Ring split 7" w/ Vacation available for Pre-Order

RRing+Vacation Split - Social 1.jpg
RRing+Vacation Split - Social 2.jpg

R. Ring “Likable”
Much like the lament of a once-loved but now neglected skate ramp in a back yard weathered by seasons year after year, R. Ring’s “Likeable” is the slow-motion introspective look at the self while life moves around in hyper speed. It admits its flaws and recognizes its imperfections and in fact owns them in the end boasting “I consider myself very likeable”.
The trio of voices, Mike Montgomery, Laura King and Kelley Deal are the lilting wheels that have skated this familiar ramp, which over the years has been their source of wisdom and respect, despite the many spills along the way.

Vacation - “White Nose Syndrome”
In a vacuum: sailing away from the Goldilocks-zone of yesteryear and into the cosmic unknown. Rock and Roll outfit Vacation return with a final visceral rocket boost of earthly familiarity before the long journey into the vacuum of the future. The first two minutes of the song are the engine bursts needed to exit the atmosphere and then the listener is left weightless and free in the vastness of space.
Lyrics for the song were provided by Dylan McCartney and were inspired by the band’s visit to the ancient tunnels of Mammoth Cave and the pandemic greatly affecting the bat population called White Nose Syndrome. “White Nose Syndrome was making all the bats meet their doom / leaving nothing but ant-eaters sniffin’ round the room”, recalls the frustrating reality of those who take more than they need while others are suffering.

Available!

LAFFINGGASFRONT.jpg

Super limited 1st pressing, 100 CD’s in jeweled cases. TAPES are in the works and should be ready to ship in the next 6 weeks.

Bloomington, IN

Nearly four years after delivering a handful of demos along with a live tape then seemingly dropping off the radar release wise, Bloomington's LAFFING GAS swing back at any and all credulous hardcore punk enthusiasts who might have forgotten about them or thought they'd just run their course and faded into obscurity as so many tend to do. "It's a Beautiful Day in the Gulch" showcases 10 blazing tracks of classic Midwestern hardcore punk, the vibe of which is more in debt to the revolutionary aural offerings of the early Touch and Go and/or Version Sound labels or even Kick N' Punch Records as a slightly more modern reference than what the region has become synonymous with in more recent times. Layout by the band's guitarist Kora Puckett.

Constant Insult, the ceiling fans, ANXIOUS LIVING!

LPR199 cover.jpg

Though Constant Insult was formed in 2014 around the unquestionably good idea of writing songs that sound like the Rolling Stones combined with the Marked Men, “History in Shorthand” doesn’t sound much like that. Simply put, Constant Insult plays driving, dynamic, and well-written punk rock that's held firmly together by charm. Live, they're a controlled high-energy outburst, captured by Matt Castore in studio here on their first proper full-length album.

Sara Pette's percolating bass and Mike Wilson's frenetic-yet-tight pounding and rolling drums drive and ground the rhythm section somewhere between Chattanooga and the East Bay. Vocalists and guitarists Katie Thornton and Wil Olsen trade cathartic harmonies on songs about life choices, bad decisions, pain physical and existential, and the transcendence and confusion of human relationships. Many of the songs rest on a pleasant foundation, but the band spins their sound around dark melodies, fast tempos, a bit of noisiness, and the catchy choruses you desperately need. Following their rapid-fire 2015 self-titled EP, “History in Shorthand” continues in the same stylistic vein while expanding the boundaries of the band’s capabilities. You know – a few years worth of evolution, but no funny stuff. And importantly, they do it without ever exceeding the song length of three minutes and ten seconds.

PENNY LP OUT NOW

PennyCOVER.jpg

Penny is the premiere punk band of Avenue C in the Lower East Side, NYC.  A hard-hitting mix of eating chips and eating candy, Penny is part friends and part family.  Penny writes songs about the personal toll of the dystopian nightmare of human interactions in the new millennium. Penny was formed in 2018 from members of Fleaspoon, No One and the Somebodies, 2009, Rock Paper Stupid, Rude Mechanical Orchestra, and Fake Blood, and is featured on the Rivington Street Music Studios Wall of Fame.

This is the debut record from Penny. “Untitled,” AKA “Self-Titled.” Give it a spin! 12 inches in 12 minutes. Fuzzy, fizzy, thumpy, and bumpy. ABC No Rio meets CBGBs and wakes up on the Tompkins Square Park playground. According to Brooklyn punk band HELLO NURSE, it “sounds like the Muppet band if they didn’t have to play for the Muppets.” Songs about dead friends and nice nights, apologies and yeah rights. For fans of Flipper, Bikini Kill, Limpwrist, The Raincoats, Fuzzzone, Hickey, 50 Million, and The Dog that Bites Everyone. The essence of decay is the icing on the cake. Throw us in the Fountain. We are one cent.

Limited to 200 unites
